The useful answer starts with your project

Stamped concrete cost depends on what is being built, the design and the site. A project-specific quote is more useful than applying one online rate to every backyard. AMGS does not publish a standard price list because the work needs to be reviewed for the actual property. Here is what to prepare and what to look for when comparing quotes.

Size and shape

Approximate length and width are a helpful start, but curves, separate areas and changes in layout can affect the work. Show the full plan, including walkways and steps, rather than measuring only the main patio. If you do not know the size yet, a sketch with furniture and the doorway marked can help begin the discussion.

Patterns, color and borders

A single finish and a design with contrasting borders or additional color details are not the same scope. Bring a few examples and identify which parts matter most to you. Ask the contractor to describe the intended pattern, color treatment, border and surface finish in the proposal.

Removal, access and preparation

Replacing existing concrete differs from building in an open area. Show any surface that must be removed and how the crew would reach the space. Tight gates, nearby structures and material handling deserve attention during review. Drainage, grading and preparation should be discussed along with the finished appearance.

What should a stamped concrete quote explain?

Look for a clear description of the area, preparation, finish and any included steps or connections. Check whether removal and disposal are included. Ask about exclusions, how unexpected conditions are handled and what care instructions will be provided. A lower total is difficult to compare if it covers less work.

Can I get an accurate quote from a photo?

Photos can help identify the type of project and the questions that need answering. They do not show every elevation or existing condition. Send your city, approximate dimensions, finish ideas and access photos so the contractor can determine the next step toward a written scope.
